Welcome to the Tiger's class page.

We have lots of exciting learning planned for this Spring term.

Our critical thinking topic for this term is the Ancient Greeks and we will be exploring the story of the Trojan Horse to answer the question: The Story of the Trojan Horse: historical fact, legend or classical myth? We will then be studying the Mayan Civilisation AD900 and exploring the question: Who were the Mayans and what have we learnt from them?

In English we will initially focus on narratives and we will be looking at Greek myths and legends and our non-narrative unit will focus on instructional writing. In addition, your child will continue to learn reading skills in our whole class guided reading sessions. The text we will be studying this half term is, ‘Who Let the Gods Out’ by Maz Evans.

In maths we will be focussing on multiplication, division, fraction, decimals and percentages.

In computing we will be using the programme scratch and will be learning about computer programming, coding and debugging.

We are also launching the Commando Joe project, which aims to build on our character muscles.

In class 5A we have Miss Abbott (class teacher), Mrs Hazell (learning support assistant). On a Tuesday afternoon our school sports coach, Mr Woods will be teaching and Mrs Harper will be teaching Tuesday morning.

P.E will be on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure both indoor and outdoor P.E kit is in school every day.
